Don’t want to work from an office? Have a dislike maybe even can’t take the bus, train, camel, plane, bike, car, horseback, whatever to work? You do have another choice ya know? People just like you, are buying home businesses at a record rate in the United States and many are making a nice profit doing so. The rise of the “gig economy” or “freelance economy” is opening up great home-based business opportunities for people with professional skills and an entrepreneurial hustle.
Wow! It’s estimated that at least 50% of millennials work as freelancers, and the majority of the workforce will soon join them within the next decade. In fact, more and more freelancers are doing so by choice rather than by necessity,” said IncFile. According to the New York Times, about 43 percent of the U.S. workforce performed some work remotely in 2016. I think people are drawn to being an entrepreneur because of the ability to direct one’s own fate.
Personally, I think people are drawn to being to be an entrepreneur because of the ability to direct one’s own fate. “Contrary to the popular belief that half of start-ups go belly up within the first year and close to 95 percent close shop by the fifth year. Look, the real truth is that 70 percent of small businesses remain in operation for at least two years. Half are still around in five years. A third is still around after a decade! And, get this, about a quarter of all start-ups are still in action after 15 years!
Also, and this is important if anyone tells you that you work at home so you must be doing laundry all day or hiding behind a keyboard is lost in the past thinking they’re thoughts are relevant in the here and now. Just know that your home-based business is just as visible and can be just as profitable as your local Subway and even Public Storage I kid you not.
If you freelance or work remotely you can be just and effective or even more from home since you remove travel time and a whole bunch of other issues faced by in-office caged workers as I like to call them.
Anyway, more facts!!! Did you know that the average revenue for a small business is in the $44,000 bracket? Yup, and clearly most small business owners derive their satisfaction from being their own boss, dictating their future rather than stacking mad money. Many want the mad money but in reality you’re creating your own job and many should look at buying a home-based business that way.
Money rarely rains down on anyone and most are not lotto-lucky. Did you know the average entrepreneur actually works almost a third more hours than the standard forty-hour week? In fact, one in five reports they work at least 70+ while almost have report working 60+ hour weeks. That word choice was intentional.

Top Business Opportunity Facts: Famous Quotes: Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company (and a man who knew a thing or two about failure) once said, “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” Before you dive in your new entrepreneurial venture, you should know a few small business facts—even if they keep you up at night—because, as McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc says: “If you’re not a risk taker, you should get the hell out of business.”
